fun fact abt confinement — my mum did it twice when she gave birth to me, then when she gave birth to my brother, and she said she nearly went insane bc my grandma—her mum— is insane about the restrictions. she wasn’t allowed to wash her hair for a month and had to sneak around with my dad so he could cover for her while she washed her hair GHSDIFKS while i do think there’s some truth in doing confinement since your body does lose lots of nutrients and blood during childbirth and most of confinement is about consuming food that replenishes blood and nutrients, i could never go a month without washing my hair GSDFLIJSJ
